OUR MISSION TO OUR CAMPERS:

​To enhance the campers physically, mentally, and socially through the use of recreation, education, socialization and rehabilitation programs in an outdoor setting. Programs stress personal motivation, self-confidence, leadership and self-reliance in a fun-filled outdoor atmosphere.


​ELIGIBILITY:

​A camper must be legally blind or have *severe visual loss, and have independent skills in feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene. A campers primary disability must be vision related.* A severe loss is defined as 20/70 or less in the best eye, with correction.

LOCATION OF PROGRAM:

​The Georgia Lions' Camp is located 12 miles southeast of Waycross, GA on GA Route 177, just off US 82. (You will find google maps on the Parents Information page).

​Youth (6 - 17), Adults (18+)

​ATTENDANCE POLICY:

​ A camper must attend sessions relative to their age unless otherwise approved by the Camp Director. The Georgia Lions Camp, Inc. welcomes all who want to attend camp.



PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

​Camp activities include arts & crafts, camping nature activities, fishing, performing arts, music, horseback riding, high ropes and low ropes courses, swimming, sports and outdoor games. All buildings are air-conditioned. Medical personnel are on duty 24 hours daily. The camp staff includes personnel with experience working with the visually impaired.
